This book is the best book of many books I have purchased for making bread. It is simple to follow and you will make some of the best tasting bread you ever made. I am not a wheat bread fan but I am now after using this book. The basic bread recipe is great for pizza dough and the bread makes the the best grilled cheese sandwiches ever. Ken Porkish hit the nail on the head with this book and you can't go wrong with it by your side. I strongly recommend getting it. You can get it new and support the author, or pick one up on ebay used for cheap.
If you plan on making bread this book is a great place to start.
I started without a proofing bowl and honestly you really don't need one. But if you want an absolutely beautiful loaf of bread that looks like you went to the bakery and bought it you will want one.
